Basketball Recap: Saratoga Springs Takes a Loss

Saratoga Springs was the 47-38 winner over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks fell 52-41 to the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans on Friday. The Blue Streaks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake found their leader in sophomore Taniyah Monforte, who posted 18 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Maggie Lescault was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Saratoga Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-16.

Looking ahead, Saratoga Springs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ballston Spa at 7:00 p.m. Saratoga Springs is facing Ballston Spa at the right time seeing as Ballston Spa is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
