Softball Game Preview: Ridgedale Rockets vs. Upper Scioto Valley Rams

Ridgedale has gone a perfect 7-0 against Upper Scioto Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rockets will face off against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Ridgedale's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Ridgemont with a sharp 6-0 victory.

Kenzie Delaney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Delaney wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Bouahom, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Upper Scioto Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Sunday. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over Perry on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their one-run performance the contest before.

The win snapped Upper Scioto Valley's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record. As for Ridgedale, their record is now 3-4.

Ridgedale took their victory against Upper Scioto Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
