League recap: Big week boosts Lawson in national rankings

Behind a 1-0 record over the past week, Lawson made the biggest jump in the national rankings, all the way from 6154 to 5249. Lawson is currently sitting at No. 176 in the state of Missouri, thanks to an overall record of 11-9.

Having lost eight games in a row, North Platte is mired in the league's worst slump. The Panthers lost 20-2 to Lathrop last week.

Lathrop boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. On the season, the Mules have allowed just 129 hits, while striking out 107 batters. Jacob Mcneely leads the Mules with 33 strikeouts in 28 innings.

Lathrop, the season leader in runs scored at 140, added to its total with a league-high 43 runs this week. Kody Kent is the team leader in runs scored with 28, while Kody Kent has driven in a team-best 19 runs with his bat.



Lathrop's Alan-michael Sparling led the league in strikeouts this week with three. He's third in the league with 15 total strikeouts.

The Mules' McNeely led the league with seven hits this week. He is third in the league with 20 hits this year, and has a .364 batting average.
