Baseball Recap: Minneapolis South Gets the Win

Minneapolis South and Breck pushed the score to 16-6 the last time they played Breck, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 3-1. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 16-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Oliver Lindstrom was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. He has become a key player for Minneapolis South: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

Minneapolis South's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Breck, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minneapolis South will square off against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Breck, they will head out to challenge Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
