Sycamore is a perfect 8-0 against LaSalle-Peru since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Spartans will face off against the Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Sycamore is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Hononegah just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, LaSalle-Peru was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to Kaneland. While losing is never fun, LaSalle-Peru can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Kaneland are ranked 80th).

Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 10-2-1. As for LaSalle-Peru, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Everything went Sycamore's way against LaSalle-Peru in their previous meeting on April 9th, as Sycamore made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
