Recap: Jack Britt Buccaneers vs. Pine Forest Trojans
The Jack Britt Buccaneers's three-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They snuck past Pine Forest with a 47-41 victory. This was payback for Jack Britt, who suffered a 55-40 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Jack Britt was led to victory by Jayvien Richardson and Ryan Lord. Richardson scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds, while Lord scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Deryian Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Pine Forest's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dwayne Johnson, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Johnson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Lyons, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Jack Britt's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Pine Forest, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jack Britt will take on E.E. Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully E.E. Smith focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Tuesday. As for Pine Forest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
