Football Recap: Second Baptist Comes Up Short

Second Baptist was the 48-16 winner over Fort Worth Christian when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Cardinals on Friday, falling 35-14. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Landon Gigliotta had a dynamite game For Fort Worth Christian., throwing for 339 yards and four TDs while completing 75.9% of his passes. Those 339 passing yards gave Gigliotta a new career-high. Kason Anding helped Gigliotta out on the ground, picking up 100 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 50 yards and one touchdown.

Second Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Fort Worth Christian, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Second Baptist will square off against Episcopal School of Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Worth Christian, they will challenge Trinity Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
