Basketball Recap: Diboll Comes Up Short

Diboll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Central Heights Blue Devils, falling 56-35. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lumberjacks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-55 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Diboll saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Erin Robbins went 7 for 16 on his way to 19 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robbins has scored all season. Barret Price also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Diboll's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Central Heights, they pushed their record up to 13-15 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Diboll has already played their next contest, a 47-44 loss against Huntington on the 28th. As for Central Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-46 victory against Woodville on the 28th.
