Basketball Recap: Ponca Find Success

Ponca posted their closest victory since December 27, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past the Norfolk Catholic Knights 49-46. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Knights last Thursday, they had to take a 44-30 loss.

Norfolk Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sidonia Wattier, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Wemhoff, who posted 12 points.

Ponca's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Norfolk Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Ponca does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norfolk Catholic, they will face off against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
