Basketball Recap: Illiana Christian Vikings vs. River Forest Ingots
Illiana Christian was the 54-29 winner over River Forest when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Illiana Christian Vikings fell just short of the River Forest Ingots by a score of 57-55 on Monday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Illiana Christian still got an impressive performance from Keilah Mudde, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Mudde is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Abbie Ritzema, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists.
Leading River Forest to victory were Rayna Cary and D?Yanna Hurn. Cary went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Hurn almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Those six assists gave Cary a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Arana, who posted six points and five rebounds.
Illiana Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for River Forest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.
