Basketball Recap: Rock Hill Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Rock Hill couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blythewood Bengals on Monday. The Bearcats' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Rock Hill lost, don't look at Aubrey Stevenson. Despite the final result, she shot 60% from the field to rack up 22 points and four steals. Stevenson has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emine Hollis, who posted 11 points.

It was another big night for Chase Thomas, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 20 boards for Blythewood. The dominant performance gave Thomas a new career-high in rebounds. Daniella Bosmans was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Rock Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Blythewood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-2 record this season.

Rock Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blythewood, they will face off against J.L. Mann at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. J.L. Mann will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Blythewood surely won't give up without a fight.
