Softball Game Preview: Bethlehem Catholic Hawks vs. Easton Area Rovers

The Bethlehem Catholic Hawks will challenge the Easton Area Rovers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Bethlehem Catholic and four for Easton Area.

Bethlehem Catholic lost 20-4 to Freedom on Tuesday.

Bethlehem Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Borsuk, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another was Sarah Banko, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Easton Area didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Easton Area's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Bethlehem Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bethlehem Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Easton Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Bethlehem Catholic came up short against Easton Area when the teams last played on April 14th, falling 4-0. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
