Football Recap: El Monte Piles Up the Points Against Marshall

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Monte). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Marshall Eagles 72-6. The Lions have beaten the Eagles the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

El Monte's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaron Rivera, who rushed for 78 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Rivera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Aleman, who threw for 191 yards and three TDs.

El Monte's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
