Flag Football Game Preview: Doherty Spartans vs. Legacy Lightning + Official Tickets

The Doherty Spartans will square off against the Legacy Lightning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Doherty 9.4, Legacy 9.3) so any points scored will be well earned.

Legacy will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Doherty extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Spartans' defense stepped up to hand Colorado Springs Christian a 6-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado flag football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Lions are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Legacy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took down Aurora Central 26-7 on Tuesday. The Lightning pushed the score to 26-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.

Doherty's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Legacy, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
