Volleyball Recap: Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Takes a Loss

Hammond Academy of Science & Tech and Morgan Township squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hammond Academy of Science & Tech had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cherokees, falling 3-0. The Hawks' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Morgan Township's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lexi Rippe led the charge by getting nine digs and four assists. That's the most assists Rippe has posted over her last five contests. Maria Ising was another key player, getting five aces and three digs.

Hammond Academy of Science & Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Morgan Township, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-10.

Hammond Academy of Science & Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morgan Township, they will face off against Marquette Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
