Basketball Game Preview: Harvard Cardinals vs. Axtell Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Harvard Cardinals challenge the Axtell Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday... Harvard hasn't scored more than 27 points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Harvard managed to keep up with Franklin until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Harvard came up short against Franklin, falling 51-27.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Axtell). They strolled past Overton with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 75-60. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Axtell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Harvard, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Harvard was dealt a bruising 68-11 loss at the hands of Axtell when the teams last played back in December of 2023. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Harvard was down 45-9.
