Volleyball Recap: Sophie Lee and Emma Garringer Secure Win for West Lafayette

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harrison, West Lafayette was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Pioneer Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 23-25, 26-24, 25-9.

West Lafayette was led to victory by Emma Garringer and Sophie Lee. Garringer had five digs and two aces, while Lee had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Garringer has posted over her last seven matchups.

They weren't the only good servers: West Lafayette was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pioneer only served four.

West Lafayette pushed their record up to 18-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Pioneer, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-14.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. West Lafayette will face off against Peru at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pioneer, they will challenge North White at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
