Basketball Recap: Trae Gharst's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Outreach Christian over Show-Me Christian

Outreach Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Show-Me Christian Angels. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Angels this season, with their most recent defeat being a 48-30 loss last Tuesday.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trae Gharst, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 19 points and five blocks. Gharst continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Davon Gibbs, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Outreach Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Show-Me Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.

Outreach Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-18 loss against Eagle Ridge Christian on the 13th. As for Show-Me Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 66-19 defeat against Heartland Christian Academy on the 13th.
