Football Recap: Austin Webber's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Toutle Lake over Hoquiam + How To Watch

The matchup between Toutle Lake and Hoquiam on Friday hardly resembled the 14-13 effort from their previous meeting. The Ducks fell 44-40 to the Grizzlies. The Ducks gained 303 more yards on the day, but it was the Grizzlies that made the best use of them.

Toutle Lake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Webber, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 151 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Jamison Shelb was another key signal caller, throwing for 230 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes.

Hoquiam found their leader in freshman Kj McCoy, who threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

This is the second loss in a row for Toutle Lake and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Hoquiam, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.

Coming up, Toutle Lake will take on Mossyrock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ducks will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hoquiam, they will face off against Montesano at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 6.6 points per game this season, so the Grizzlies' offense will have their work cut out for them.
