Volleyball Recap: Wakulla Finds Playoff Glory Versus Suwannee

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wakulla had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Suwannee Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win two weeks ago.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 28-26, 25-16.

Leading Wakulla to victory were Sophia Stolk and Leila Parsons. Stolk had six digs and five aces, while Parsons had 13 digs. Those five aces gave Stolk a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Wakulla was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matches.

Defeat or not, Suwannee got some senior leadership from Ansleigh Kelley and Avery Music. Kelley had 16 digs and three aces, while Music had 12 assists and six digs.

Wakulla's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. As for Suwannee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season.

Wakulla and Suwannee are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, the War Eagles and Pensacola will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Suwannee, they will head out on the road to challenge South Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
