Recap: Jacksonville Fightin' Indians vs. Lindale Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to The Jacksonville Fightin' Indians, who are still winless after their ninth match. They were outmatched by Lindale on the road and fell 49-14. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jacksonville in their matchups with Lindale: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Fightin' Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jermaine Taylor, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 49 receiving yards. Radarrius Sirls was another key contributor, rushing for 105 yards.
Jacksonville's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Chapel Hill and 7-2 Whitehouse (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.7% over those games). As for Lindale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Jacksonville will be playing in front of their home fans against Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Henderson has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25. Lindale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
