Football Recap: Freeport Keeps Hopewell's Under Pressure + How To Watch

Despite a strong season so far, Freeport has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a hard 41-26 fall against the Hopewell Vikings on Friday. The contest marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Even if they lost, Freeport's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Dawson Gaillot, Chace Flynn, and Bryson Paga, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Hopewell's side was Gaillot, who picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Hopewell found their leader in sophomore Nasir Wade, who rushed for 182 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Those 182 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Wade. Tre Cameron also helped with two scores in total.

Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Hopewell, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeport will challenge East Allegheny at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hopewell, they will face off against Central Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
