The Ridgeway Roadrunners entered their tilt with the Melrose Golden Wildcats with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Ridgeway beat Melrose on Wednesday by the very same score they won with last week: 74-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Ridgeway's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brian Carter, Jr. led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Carter, Jr. is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Emanuel Allen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Melrose still got an impressive performance from Devin Sanders Jr, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of William Carver, who scored 16 points along with three steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeway will face off against Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Ridgeway is ranked 21st). As for Melrose, they will head out on the road to take on Trezevant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trezevant is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
