Basketball Recap: Brandon Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Charlie Pyron and Messiah Mckinley

Brandon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 61-45 fall against the Freedom Patriots. The Eagles lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-10 score last time.

Brandon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Messiah McKinley, who posted 15 points, and Charlie Pyron, who earned 13 points. Another player making a difference was Tyliest Montgomery, who put up six points.

Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Freedom, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

Brandon will welcome Sumner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sumner's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Freedom, they will square off against King at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Freedom is facing King at the right time seeing as King is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
