Baseball Recap: Voyager Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Voyager Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Perquimans Pirates by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since April 18th.

Voyager Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacobi Purvis, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Voyager Academy's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-4. As for Perquimans, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Voyager Academy nor Perquimans have any future games scheduled.
