Basketball Recap: Brooks County Falls Despite Big Games from Anton Graham and Camauri Brinson

Brooks County lost against Turner County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Brooks County Trojans lost to the Turner County Titans at home by a 65-49 margin. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Titans are ranked 233rd).

Despite the loss, Brooks County had strong showings from Camauri Brinson, who posted 17 points and six steals, and Anton Graham, who went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points and eight boards. Brinson has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times he's played.

Brooks County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Turner County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.

Brooks County will be playing at home against Madison County at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Madison County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Brooks County likes a good challenge. As for Turner County, they will venture away from home to challenge Charlton County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Turner County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
