Basketball Recap: Crosby Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from EVAN EGANS and PHILLIP JACKSON

Crosby fought the good fight in their overtime game against Kingwood Park on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Kingwood Park Panthers by a score of 61-59. That makes it the first time this season the Cougars have let down their home crowd.

Crosby's loss came despite strong showings from PHILLIP JACKSON and EVAN EGANS. JACKSON went 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds, while EGANS posted 20 points. WESLEY YARBROUGH was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Crosby smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Crosby's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 17-12. As for Kingwood Park, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

Crosby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-57 defeat against Pasadena on the 24th. Kingwood Park has also already played their next game, a 60-46 victory against West Fork on the 24th.
