Softball Game Preview: Wethersfield Eagles vs. Berlin Redcoats

Wethersfield is 0-5 against Berlin since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will head out to take on the Redcoats at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wethersfield will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Maloney, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Eagles' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Berlin entered their tilt with Newington on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Nor'easters with a sharp 10-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Redcoats, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Berlin's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Wethersfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
