Basketball Game Preview: Salem Blue Devils vs. Londonderry Lancers

Salem is 1-9 against Londonderry since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Salem Blue Devils will challenge the Londonderry Lancers. Salem is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Salem is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They took down Alvirne 43-29. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Broncos are ranked 40th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Londonderry won against Nashua South on Saturday with 73 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. Londonderry beat Nashua South by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 73-29. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 22 points or more this season.

The victory (which was Londonderry's third in a row) raised their record to 22-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39 points. As for Salem, their record now sits at 15-6.

Salem might still be hurting after the 65-43 loss they got from Londonderry when the teams last played back in January. Can Salem avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
