Softball Recap: Nativity BVM Green Wave vs. Allentown Central Catholic Vikings
Nativity BVM had lost six straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-16 to make it seven. They came up short against the Allentown Central Catholic Vikings, falling 16-1. The Green Wave were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Nativity BVM saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Clark, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
As for Allentown Central Catholic, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-15. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Allentown Central Catholic's side, Jenna Dalrymple 2026 looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gianna Menecola, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eloise Brown, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
Coming up, Nativity BVM will head out to take on Shenandoah Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a six-game losing streak. Allentown Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
