Soccer Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Collierville's Winning Streak

If Collierville was riding high fresh off their 5-1 takedown of St. George's last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Collierville Dragons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christian Brothers Purple Wave on Thursday. The Dragons were red-hot offensively heading into the match (they scored no less than four goals in the three contests prior), but the Purple Wave's defense proved too tough.

Collierville's goal came courtesy of Landon Burns, who's now up to four this season.

The loss snapped Collierville's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-1 record. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those six games. As for Christian Brothers, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collierville will venture away from home to square off against Jackson Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian Brothers, they are taking a road trip to challenge Houston at 7:00 p.m. on March 28th.
