Recap: North White Vikings vs. North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays
This season hasn't been kind to the North White Vikings, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They lost to North Judson-San Pierre on the road by a decisive 46-32 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, North White can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while North Judson-San Pierre is ranked 160th).
Despite the defeat, North White saw an underclassman step up: Autumn Reif dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Reif scored 15 or more points.
Leading North Judson-San Pierre to victory were Kyleigh Lehiy and Cailyn Tunis. Lehiy scored 11 points along with nine rebounds, while Tunis scored 15 points along with three steals. Lehiy hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Raegan Hensley, who scored six points along with five steals.
North White's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-11. As for North Judson-San Pierre, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North White will face off against Morgan Township at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Morgan Township focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they will head out on the road to face off against Culver Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Culver Community is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
