Football Game Preview: Raytown Bluejays vs. Truman Patriots

Raytown has gone a perfect 7-0 against Truman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bluejays will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Truman will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Raytown extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Bluejays blew past Ruskin 49-8. Given the Bluejays' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 257th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Raytown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Traice Collier, who picked up 131 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Those 131 receiving yards gave Collier a new career-high. Jaeden Davis was another key pass catcher, picking up 66 receiving yards and two scores.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Truman). They had just enough and edged out Chrisman 34-31.

Truman's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Raytown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Raytown against Truman in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 53-14 win. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
