Football Recap: Pittsfield Comes Up Short on the Road Against Riverton + How To Watch

Pittsfield kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 29-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverton Hawks. The Saukees were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Pittsfield lost, don't look at Taylor Graham. Despite the final result, he picked up 116 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Graham really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards.

Riverton can attribute much of their success to Gradyn Hartlaub, who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 187 yards while completing 77.3% of his passes.

Pittsfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-19 loss against Athens on the 5th. As for Riverton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 20-12 defeat against Olympia on the 5th.
