Softball Recap: Southeast Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Southeast proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Alliance Aviators 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Morgan Muncy was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Stephens, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Southeast's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Alliance, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast will host Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alliance, they will challenge Marlington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
