Blacksburg had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pulaski County Cougars by a score of 9-6. The Bruins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Max Matthews was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Brice Abbott was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Blacksburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Blacksburg's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Pulaski County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
