Baseball Game Preview: Reedley Pirates vs. Pioneer Valley Panthers

The Reedley Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Pioneer Valley Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Reedley will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Reedley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Immanuel.

Reedley let Alex Rodriguez and Andres Razo run wild. Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Razo went 1-for-4 with one home run. That's the most RBI Rodriguez has posted since back in March. Cole Betancourt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Reedley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pioneer Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Santa Maria on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won eight in a row.

Pioneer Valley's record is now 10-15. As for Reedley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-13.
