Maloney faced Hall in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Spartans blew past the Titans 3-0. The victory was just business as usual for the Spartans, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.

While Maloney won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-16.

Wesley Colebrook paced Maloney's offense, picking up 21 kills. Colebrook got some help from Galo Cadena and his 30 assists. Colebrook was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Hall lost, don't look at Joshua Ng. Despite the final result, he had eight digs and two aces.

Maloney's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for Hall, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maloney will take on New Britain at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hall, they will challenge Farmington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
