Volleyball Recap: Fruitport Takes a Loss

Fruitport lost against East Grand Rapids back in September of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers.

Izabel Hanson-Wilbur paced Fruitport's offense, picking up five kills. Hanson-Wilbur got some help from Emma Fecher and her seven assists.

Rylee Stanley-Eldred was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Fruitport's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for East Grand Rapids, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Fruitport will face off against Ravenna at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Grand Rapids, they have already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Otsego on the 22nd.
