Basketball Recap: Anna Takes a Loss

Anna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 50-35 to the Lovejoy Leopards. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Leopards are ranked 41st).

When it comes to explaining why Anna lost, don't look at Lamin Foon. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points and eight rebounds. Foon has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times he's played.

Anna's loss dropped their record down to 11-21. As for Lovejoy, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 27-5.

Anna wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-45 win against McKinney North on the 11th. As for Lovejoy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-60 victory against Denison on the 11th.
