Baseball Game Preview: Beech Buccaneers vs. Northeast Eagles

The Beech Buccaneers will head out to challenge the Northeast Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Beech is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Beech came up short against Mount Juliet and fell 5-1.

Liam Dougherty was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over 6.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Jackson Kennedy was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Northeast didn't have quite enough to beat Clarksville on Thursday and fell 4-3.

Beech's loss dropped their record down to 18-14. As for Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20.

Beech got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2021 against Northeast by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
