Preview: West Muskingum Tornadoes vs. John Glenn Little Muskies

West Muskingum is 2-8 against John Glenn since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The West Muskingum Tornadoes will be playing in front of their home fans against the John Glenn Little Muskies at 7:30 p.m. West Muskingum is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.

Last Saturday, things could have been worse for West Muskingum, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-43 loss to Sheridan.

Despite their loss, West Muskingum saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kyle Porter, who scored ten points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Carter Smith, who scored five points along with six rebounds.

Meanwhile, John Glenn fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Garaway on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Pirates 54-49. John Glenn has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Caleb Larrick, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Dolan, who scored 12 points.

West Muskingum's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8. As for John Glenn, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: West Muskingum have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 23.9 rebounds per game. It's a different story for John Glenn, though, as they've been averaging only 23.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

West Muskingum beat John Glenn 68-57 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was John Glenn's Nathan Walker, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for West Muskingum to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
