Basketball Recap: Eli Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lake George over Fort Ann

Lake George was the 65-47 winner over Fort Ann when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lake George Lakers fell to the Fort Ann Cardinals 44-40. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lake George's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Brown, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chris Henry, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

Fort Ann got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Javier Hernandez out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Kadyence Cutter was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.

Lake George's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Fort Ann, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake George has already played their next matchup (against Fort Edward), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fort Ann will take on Wells at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wells will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Fort Ann surely won't give up without a fight.
