Louisville extends home losing streak to 14

Recap: Louisville Lions vs. Douglas County West Falcon

The Louisville Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Douglas County West, falling 60-24. Louisville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-9.

Louisville's loss came despite strong showings from Kylie Gaston and Lilly Bax. Gaston scored eight points, while Bax scored seven points along with eight rebounds.

Grace Holm was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points for Douglas County West. Another player making a difference was Olivia Malousek, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

Louisville bumped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Douglas County West, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Louisville will challenge Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Arlington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Louisville in Nebraska (Arlington is ranked 40th, while Louisville is ranked 234th). As for Douglas County West, they will head out on the road to square off against Yutan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Yutan is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
