Softball Recap: Taylor Allderdice Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Taylor Allderdice, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Obama Academy of International Studies Eagles with a sharp 15-5 win on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Dragons needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Braelyn Altman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Altman was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Taylor Allderdice got a massive performance out of Amya Weisfield, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Delia Graham, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

The victory got Taylor Allderdice back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor Allderdice will challenge Steel Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Obama Academy of International Studies, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carrick at 3:15 p.m. on April 10.
