Park Vista extended their postseason success on Thursday against Stoneman Douglas. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Angeline Mergen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Mergen was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Park Vista got a massive performance out of Katie Ristau, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Ristau a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keaganne Glidden, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Park Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stoneman Douglas only posted an OBP of .238.

Park Vista's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Stoneman Douglas, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-12.

Looking ahead, Park Vista will head out on the road to face off against Western at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cobras 3.2, the Wildcats 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Stoneman Douglas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
