Volleyball Recap: Crosspoint Christian Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Thomas Jefferson School came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Crosspoint Christian, but Lizzy Schutt wouldn't allow it. Crosspoint Christian blew past Thomas Jefferson School 3-0 on Friday thanks in part to Schutt, who had 16 assists and 11 aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last 12 times she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Crosspoint Christian was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-7, 25-14.

Crosspoint Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julie Liggett, who had seven kills, six aces, and three digs. That's the most digs Liggett has posted since back in October of 2024. Ava Cobb was another key player, getting seven aces.

They weren't the only good server: Crosspoint Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 38 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Crosspoint Christian's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Thomas Jefferson School, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Crosspoint Christian will take on rival Providence Classical Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson School is set to square off against their familiar foe Rivers of Life Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
