Football Recap: Davis Darts vs. Fremont Silverwolves

Davis fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Fremont on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Silverwolves were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 35-34 defeat. Darts fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Silverwolves since Friday.

Despite the loss, Davis still got an impressive performance from Tradon Bessinger, who threw for 355 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown. Bessinger's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 355 passing yards dating back to last season. Tyson Baggett was Bessinger's top target, picking up 57 receiving yards and three scores.

Davis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bode Sparrow and Isaac Morrison.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fremont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Manase Tuatagaloa, who threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 82 yards. Those 82 rushing yards gave Tuatagaloa a new career-high. Slade Parker was Tuatagaloa's top target, picking up 134 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Davis' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fremont, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davis will welcome Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fremont, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Corner Canyon at 7:00 p.m.
