Baseball Recap: Wynnewood Victorious

Wynnewood's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Lexington Bulldogs 8-7. The game was the first time the Savages have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since April 8, 2017.

Aidan Bailey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Blake Holman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jett Anderson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Wynnewood's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4. As for Lexington, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Coming up, Wynnewood will face off against Stratford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up.
