Softball Recap: Millbrook Wildcats vs. Corinth Holders Pirates

Millbrook extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 10-11. They lost 20-2 to the Corinth Holders Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 on Tuesday.

Brynn Herman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

As for Corinth Holders, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

On Corinth Holders' side, Eli McKenzie made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. McKenzie was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kendyl Bledsoe was a standout: she fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Marks, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.

As of now, neither Millbrook nor Corinth Holders have any future games scheduled.
